Transforming community through citizen solidarity projects

Grassroots and community-based initiatives that bring together newcomers and locals in common activities are important for fostering pluralism.

Our research is based on projects such as kitchen hubs and cooking projects, mentorship programs and recreational activities such as sports, DJ and dance events taking place across several European countries including in Denmark, Germany, Italy.

These projects are important because they enable moments of social relationships, based not on erasing differences, but rather on establishing human connection informed by seeing, acknowledging and learning about different positionalities of people through their shared lived experiences.
